Rudos Home where vulnerable children lives together with two locally employed women.
Rudos is giving poor families in the community a way to empower themselves through our goat project.
Through our support program we are giving children from poor families a chance to go school. We are also giving them food on a monthly basis.

All our staff are from the local area. We also use local tradesmen when we need assistance with something.
Rudo means love in the local language, Shona.
Rudos was also a little girl that lost both her parents due to AIDS when she was 8 years old. She did not have any extended family to care for her. She lived alone and did not have any money. People in her community sometimes gave her food when they could afford to, but they had very little themselves to share. She was often very hungry with poor shelter on the cold nights.
Rudo had to walk a great distance to collect water. The nearest borehole was far away from her home. In the burning sun she carried the heavy bucket on her head, hungry and tired. This was a hard job for a little, exhausted girl.
In the rural areas the African night is so dark that you cannot see your hand in front of your face. Few have electricity and there are no streetlights. Rudo did not have a torch nor a candle to give her any light at night. At night she would lay on the dirt floor in her hut listening to all scary sounds of the dark night.
Rudo became very ill two years after she lost her parents. She died alone, 10 years old.
Rudos was founded in the memory of the young, brave Rudo, and was to be a “loving home” for children in the same situation as Rudo.
This story is a true story, and many other small children like her are suffering like her right now. ALone, hungry and scared.
Our goal is to create a loving home for children like Rudos. To give them security, love and cover their basic needs.
With your support we can manage!
